Special Care Aide/Home Health Aide

Special Care Aides/Home Health Aides are an important part of the nursing team. They assist people to maintain independence in a safe environment through daily activities, which are inclusive of physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. They work in the community, long-term care centers and in hospitals.
Training
What: One year Home Care/Special Care Aide course (also called Continuing Care Assistant or Personal Care Aide) Where: Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST), Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology (SIIT), Dumont Technical Institute (DTI), Saskatoon Business College How Long: Six to eight months Entrance Requirements: Grade 10, GED or Grade 12
