Listening to Employees - Employee Opinion Surveys & Other Ways |
Learning what makes a positive workplace requires listening to the people who do the work. Saskatoon Health Region is working to enhance the positive nature of its workplaces developing and implementing strategies that respond to the results of an organization wide employee survey. Those strategies will improve the quality of recognition that is given to the contributions of employees.
The organization seeks out employee opinions through other means including the Maura Davies, President and Chief Executive Officer blog, online surveys and encouraging input into organizational planning.

Committing to a Representative Workforce: Aboriginal Awareness Program |
Saskatoon Health Region is committed to ensuring that everyone in the communities it serves have access to appropriate health care services. It recognizes that there are groups whose health care needs are not being met by the existing system. The Health Region is working to change that reality.
To support this goal the staff are supported so they can work in a “culturally competent” way. This means helping employees understand, appreciate, and feel fluent with people of all cultures, especially Aboriginal cultures. To this end, all staff are invited to participate in training to develop awareness of Saskatchewan’s First Nations and Métis people.
