Speech-Language Pathologist

Speech-Language Pathologists help people overcome and prevent communication problems.

Speech-Language Pathologists may work in schools, hospitals, child development centres, rehabilitation centres, public health offices, industries, universities, colleges, private practices or research centres.

 

Training

What: 
Master Degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Where: 
Various Canadian universities, including University of Alberta, University of British Columbia, University of Toronto, etc.

How Long: 
Masters Program - 2 to 5 years

Entrance Requirements: 
This is not a direct entry program. Prerequisites include a Bachelor’s degree in communication disorders or a Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic background in psychology, linguistics, statistics, physical and social sciences. Each program may require specific undergraduate courses, which must be determined early in your undergraduate degree planning.
